John Dale

Garden Chapel

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Traviss Dale of Nepean at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on July 23, 2021 with loving family by his side.

John was born in Pendleton, England and was the only son of John and Winifred Dale. He emigrated to Canada in the 1950s, enjoyed a varied career in electronics, and always said he was never out of a job after he arrived. He retired as Marketing Manager of NavAids at Canadian Marconi Company (Kanata).

He is survived by his wife Phyllis, his stepchildren Mark Dalzell of NJ and Chrystie Dalzell (Jacques Carrier) of Ottawa and his 2 precious granddaughters Charlotte Dalzell and Sophie Carrier.

John also leaves behind his sister Stella Buxton; his sisters-in-law Alice Daley, Peggy Dodds (Bob), and Patricia Whitney (Michael); and several nieces and nephews. Remembered by Lesley, Sarah, Alex, and Michael.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, August 21st at 11am at Tubman Funeral Home (3440 Richmond Rd, Nepean). The service will also be livestreamed.

In light of current protocols, attendees are required to register prior to the service. If you would like to attend, please contact the family at cdalzell@hotmail.com by August 18th. If you’re unable to attend and would like to watch via livestream, please contact the family for the link.

Donations to the Canadian Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
