Johannes Duncker

Johannes (Hans) Duncker passed away suddenly on December 17, 2023 at age 93.

Born in Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1930, he majored in Economics, obtaining a doctorandus degree, and was a student fencing champion. After moving to Ottawa in 1966, he worked in a number of federal government departments, ultimately serving many years as an oilseed price analyst at Agriculture Canada.

Hans is survived by his beloved wife Anne (Lynn), children Bernard, Anthony (Minka) and Stephanie (Steven), and was Opa to Leila, Ava and Isabella.

He will be fondly remembered for his quirky sense of humor, love of books and opera, bargain hunting at thrift stores and hearty appetite. A Celebration of Life will take place in early 2024.
