Threader – Jean Margaret (MacDonald)

June 10, 1928 – October 16, 2022

Born June 10, 1928 in Maxville, Ontario.  It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Jean at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Sunday, October 16, 2022.

She met her soul mate and best friend Jack in St. Catharines, Ontario and together they had three devoted children, Jeff (Wendy), Greg and Elizabeth and seven cherished grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael Sexton), Matthew, Kimberly, Melanie, Katie, Emily and Kristy. Her unwavering love and affection will remain in our hearts forever.

A registered nurse by trade, Jean was known for her compassionate and caring personality. She is predeceased by her husband Jack her loving companion and best friend for almost 65 years. It was a true love story. They shared many adventures together and met many friends that mom still called regularly to catch up.  She valued all of her friendships and took no one for granted.

During the last five years she demonstrated her strength and independence living in Carlingwood Retirement Home who provided respectful care and nurturing especially with public health measures in place.  She enjoyed participating in the regular activities and cared deeply for the staff and residents. We are so grateful for this special time she had.

Friends may call at the Tubman Funeral Homes,  Westboro Chapel (403 Richmond Rd.) on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 1 to 3pm followed by a funeral service and reception from 3 to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Mission or Lupus Canada would be appreciated.
