Jean Martin "Marty" Boileau

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Marty Boileau, who died suddenly, surrounded by family at the Queensway Carleton Hospital.

Marty is survived by his son Dylan Boileau, sister Lianne Boileau, brother Tim Boileau (Tracy), nephews Ryan Boileau and Nicholas Boileau (Sarah) and longtime friend and schoolmate Jim Whetherby. Marty is pre-deceased by his mother, Marianne Elizabeth Anderson and his father, Jean-Guy Boileau.

Marty truly had a good heart and soul. He lived his life with a good sense of wrong and right and even in hardship never failed to find kindness and love for others. In his youth Marty loved to swim and spent countless hours in the pool and on the diving boards. Marty also spent many hours riding his unicycle as a child and recently took it up again. Marty was a proud father. He spoke often of how he missed Dylan when he was away living with his mother, and he supported Dylan to the best of his abilities when he was living with him. Although Marty was not able to work for some time, he had a strong work ethic and was proud of the skills he had learned and practiced as an electrician. He never lost hope that he would one day be well enough to return to work. Marty loved music. He played the guitar and drums and loved jamming on his own and with others. He had recently been teaching his nephew Ryan how to play guitar and spoke often of how much joy this brought him. Marty loved to laugh. He had a great sense of humour which stayed with him even in his last hours in the ICU.

Visitation in the presence of Marty’s ashes will take place on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Tubman Funeral Home, Westboro Chapel, 403 Richmond Road, Ottawa Ontario from Noon until 3pm. There will be Prayers at 2:30.
