Jacqueline Brulotte

May 31, 1924 — January 21, 2024

Jacqueline Brulotte (nee Bissonnette) died peacefully in her retirement residence on 21 January 2024. She was delighted to be back home and doing well after a recent hospital stay; joking with her care givers and enjoying many phone calls with her children and friends. She was happy and content when she gently slipped out of this world while relaxing in her comfy recliner after breakfast, surrounded by the things she had gathered throughout her life. Jacqueline was born on 31 May 1924, and thus passed away a scant four months before her 100th birthday.

Jacqueline was born in Montreal, and lived with her parents and three sisters (Jeanette, Rose and Gisele) on St Hubert Street. After graduating from high school Jacqueline worked for Bell Canada where she met her future husband Leo Brulotte – introduced to each other by Leo’s older sister Vivian at a Bell dance Jacqueline and Leo were attending with other companions, they never dated anyone else, and were married on 15 March 1947. Jacqueline and Leo had four children, Lise (1949), Ron (1950), Michel (1960) and Richard (1962). Leo passed away suddenly in 1991, and eventually Jacqueline moved to Ottawa in 2003 to be closer to Michel and Richard. Jacqueline was predeceased by her sisters, and all of Leo’s siblings – she was the last one standing from her generation.

Jacqueline is survived by her children, their spouses/partners Willy (Lise), Ann (Ron), Robin (Michel) and Mette (Richard), her seven grandchildren: Bobby (Ron), Katherine and Erik (Lise), Isabelle, Vincent, and Madeleine (Michel) and Naomi (Richard), and two great grandchildren: Siobhan and Eoin.

A funeral mass will be held at a future date.
