Irene May (née Robinson)

Peacefully, and surrounded by love, Irene May (née Robinson) passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in her 98th year.

Beloved wife of the late Jack May. Cherished mother of Penny Sisson (Frank), Jo Anne Curry (Mike), John (Patti), and Jeff (Andrea). Adored grandmother of Vicki Bisson (Jean) and Mark Sisson (Josée); Jeff (Anne) and Darren (Kerri) Curry; Derek (Tina) and Stephanie (Tony) May; and Ryan, Owen, Zack, and Curtis May. She will also be lovingly remembered by her 10 great-grandchildren. Irene was predeceased by her grandson Adam May.

Fondly remembered as the daughter of the late Fred and Esther Robinson, and predeceased by her brothers Ken, Derek, and Robert.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Doctors Uppal and Levine, the dedicated staff at Hillel Lodge, and her compassionate caregivers Gloria and Shala for their kindness and support.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 1610 Roger Stevens Drive, Kars, on Sunday, May 25th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 1138 Bridge Street, Manotick, on Monday, May 26th at 1:00 p.m., followed by interment at Capital Memorial Gardens and a reception in the church hall.
