Ian Alexander Leslie

Ian passed away suddenly of a heart attack at home on August 17, 2025.

Born in Edmonton, AB to Anne and Alex Leslie, he spent most of his life in Ottawa, ON, with a few adventurous years as a teenager in Pakistan when his father was posted there in the 1970s.

Ian was survived by his wife Victoria (Vicki), their son Duncan, his brother Hugh and his wife Shelly, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ian was part of the first graduating class of the International School of Islamabad. He graduated from the University of Waterloo with a General Arts degree and a degree in Environmental Studies. He later graduated from the Library Technician program at Algonquin College, Ottawa.

Ian started his working life at Fine’s Flowers on Riverside Drive. He spent most of his working life caring for the collection in the library of the Canadian Space and Aviation Museum, retiring in 2011.
