Holly Ellen Stairs

Holly Ellen Stairs (née Burns) passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2026, following a long and courageous journey with chronic health challenges. Throughout her life, she faced these difficulties with quiet strength, resilience, and grace, never allowing them to define her spirit or diminish her love for those around her.

She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, James, and a deeply loving mother to her children, Jessica (Jonathan) and Kyle (Melissa). Her greatest joy came from her role as a grandmother, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, Bowen and Landon.

Holly was predeceased by her parents, Catherine ‘Kay’ and William. Holly was also a cherished sister to her four siblings, Judy (Bob), Gary, Nancy and Debi. She was an avid hobbyist, picking up new talents throughout her life, whether it be cross-stitching, painting, or most recently, diamond art. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel cared for, often placing the needs of her family before her own.

Despite ongoing health challenges, she continued to show kindness, patience, and determination, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the strength of her family, the love she gave so freely, and the many lives she touched along the way.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Tubman Funeral Home Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Sunday, January 11th, 2026, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Holly's memory to Multiple Sclerosis Canada.
