Wilson, Helen (Dashney)
1938 - 2023

Peacefully in her sleep, on Tuesday October 24, 2023 at the age of 85.  Loving wife of the late Merrill (2017), cherished mother of Keith (Lorna) and Norma (Brent Crawford). Much loved grandma of Kolby, Jesse, Sam and Maggie. She also leaves behind her brothers Edwin ( late Mary) and Arnold ( late Leona) Dashney, as well as nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Helen’s life was defined by faith and family. She grew up in Navan, trained as a teacher, met and married Merrill and moved to Fallowfield where she spent most of her life as the core of the family dairy farm.  She was a loving mother to Keith and Norma, a loving wife to Merrill but also that piece of his life that completed him.  It was through Helen that Merrill viewed the world.

Helen was an active member of the Fallowfield United Church, Richmond Agricultural Society, as well as many other aspects of community life. She loved her many flower and vegetable gardens, was an amazing cook and baker, she enjoyed playing the piano and hosting gatherings in the farm house with family and their many dear friends.

Funeral service will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Tuesday October 31, 2023 at 11a.m. with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers a donation to CHEO or The Ottawa Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
