Boreham, Dr. Gordon Francis

May 29,1928 - May 6, 2022

Emeritus Professor, University of Ottawa

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected, but peaceful, passing of our wonderful dad and Gampie, Gordon, just weeks shy of his 94th birthday. It is also with joy that we celebrate the amazing life that he lived.

After graduating with his PHD in economics from Columbia University, dad began his distinguished 35 year teaching career as a professor of Economics at the University of Ottawa. During this time he authored several text books, wrote hundreds of published articles, and travelled extensively while studying the world's banking systems. Dad visited over 150 different countries and many of them more than once. His fondest memories were of the time (73'-74') he spent at the National Defence College and the many lifelong friends he met there.

Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife Marilyn Southwell (1999), his cherished mother Ann O'meara, father Henry, and his brother Ronald.

Loving father to Susan Martin, Mark (Patty) and Lisa Ann. Fondly known as Gampie to Blake (Sandra), Christopher, Michael, John and Stephen and great Gampie to William, Travis and Marilyn. He will be missed.

Special thanks to the entire staff at Valley Stream Manor who took such good care of my dad during his 3 year stay with them.

A graveside service at Pinecrest Cemetery will take place on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 3 pm.
