Gladys May Saylor

Gladys May Saylor (nee MacCabe) passed away peacefully on September 19, 2023, just shy of her 98th birthday.  Predeceased by her loving husband, Frederick Saylor, brothers, Patrick MacCabe (Fran) and Bob Akers, and son, Richard Saylor (Michele).  Gladys will be greatly missed by her Daughter, Glynis, and her Granddaughters, Sharon (Craig), Ashley (Chris), and Samantha (Taylor).  Gladys was a special Great-Nanny to Timothy, Emma, Thomas, William, and Ford. 

Gladys was born in England, and arrived in Canada shortly after World War II as a war-bride, marrying Fred on May 21, 1944.  Fred and Glad made their home in Ottawa, and built a cottage on Colton Lake, near Renfrew, Ontario.  Gladys was a highly respected real estate agent and was a member of the Million Dollar Club in the 1980s, and in retirement, enjoyed traveling the world with Fred.  Upon Fred’s death, Gladys met her bridge gals, Lorna, Rosemary, Bev, and Peggy, who have been special friends ever since.  Gladys will be missed by many. 

Please join us on October 3, 2023, at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m.  Private burial at Capital Memorial Gardens.
