It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Conlin, peacefully at home, on Wednesday September 17, 2025 at the age of 81.
Predeceased by his parents, Bill and Margaret (née Fee) Conlin. Devoted father to William (Bill) and loving companion to Eileen (Stackpole). Brother of Kenneth (Carmel) Conlin and favourite uncle to Jennifer (Aaron Kallio) and Robert.
George was born on April 28th,1944 in Ottawa at the Grace Hospital. He spent his childhood summers working on his relatives’ farms and getting into mischief with his cousins.
He became a commercial electrician, obtaining the Provincial Red Seal endorsement and soon after was hired by the City of Ottawa Traffic Signals Department, where he spent the duration of his career until retirement.
An exceptional man with a wonderful sense of humour, he loved classic cars and car races. He supported his son, Bill, throughout his football years, spent countless weekends RV camping with Eileen and friends, enjoying country and bluegrass music small stages, and loved a good game of cards.
He delighted in visiting friends and family and exploring the sites of the Ottawa Valley on daytime rambles, where tales of adventure would often follow.
He will be remembered as one of a kind, a legend and a rare breed who will live on in our hearts forever. A sincere thank you to his friends, amazing circle of neighbours as well as his loving caregivers Theresa, Ann and Ana for their ongoing support and kindness.
