George Bolivar

January 25, 1930 — February 15, 2022

George Robert (Bob) Bolivar

1930 – 2022

Bob Bolivar passed away peacefully, February 15, with his wife of 66 years, Leona, at his side. He is survived by his sons Roddy (Michelle, Kelly-Anne and Cory), Dale, Glen (Julie, Sarah, Rachel and Ariane) and David (Joanne, Brent and Jenna).

Bob started working in the early 1950s and throughout a long career, was a pioneer in aerial photography and aerial mineral survey in Canada’s north and around the world. His large collection of art and artifacts, as well as his contributions to documenting Canada’s aerial survey history, are reminiscent of the many stories of his travels. Always a dedicated gardener, upon retirement, Bob along with Leona, devoted themselves for over 20 years to maintaining a large public garden. Bob was very proud of the recognition he and Leona received from the City of Ottawa, students at a nearby school, neighbours and passers-by for the joy their garden brought to others.

In memory of Bob, and to recognize the excellent care he received, please consider making a donation to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation.
