Thompson – Gary (Trooper)

Suddenly at home with his family on Friday, February 11, 2022 age 80.  Survived by his loving wife Isabel, his daughters Kim (Gerry) and Tammy (Bruce); grandsons Jaden and Leeland and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Donald and Lily, and sister Bonnie.

He was a proud retired member of the Ottawa Police Force where he impacted many children during his years as a much loved school patrol officer. Gary was a good man who loved his family, home and community with unwavering dedication.  He gave thousands of hours volunteering and fund raising for the people and causes he loved.  His hobbies included bad jokes, country music, playing guitar and singing.  He was a loyal Ottawa Senators fan, and if he cared about you he would tease you endlessly.

Friends may attend a visitation at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 1610 Roger Stevens Dr., Kars on Sunday, February 20th from 1 to 4 p.m.  To attend the visitation, proof of double vaccination and pre-registration is mandatory. To register, please scroll below.
