It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Feryn Helena Craven (nee Bennett) on July 24, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 19, 1948, Feryn lived a life devoted to Jesus, her family, church, and community.
She was predeceased by her sister, Crystal Cameron, her brother-in-law, Ted Prins, and several grandchildren who were welcomed into heaven before they could be held on earth. Feryn is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ray; their four children, Shawn (Michelle), Kimberly (Shaun Holland), Matthew (Brittany), and Lance (Katrina); and her 13 grandchildren: Alexa (Ephraim), Jacob (Mallory), William, Cody (Alexis), Emma, Jane, Owen, Luke, Isabella, Lily, Carson, Abby, and Ella. At the time of her passing, Feryn was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Cayden, Gabriella, and Harrison, with one more on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Shirley LeRoy (Duane), Warren Bennett (Cheryl), and Glenna Prins; her brother-in-law, Glenn Cameron; and dear friends Dale and Lois Lyons, along with many nieces, nephews, and cherished lifelong friends.
Feryn grew up on a dairy farm in Foresters Falls, ON, where she attended Foresters Falls Standard Church (now Whitewater Wesleyan Church) and Zion Hill Camp, laying the foundation for her strong faith in Jesus. It was there, at a young age, that she made the life-changing decision to follow Him and to use her gifts in service to others.
She continued her education at Brockville Bible College, where she was part of the music program. Later, Feryn attended St. Vincent de Paul Hospital (Brockville) School of Nursing, earning her qualifications as a Registered Nurse Assistant. She worked at Ottawa Riverside Hospital for several years before marrying the love of her life, Ray, in July 1974. Together, they began raising a family, starting with their first child in 1976.
Feryn dedicated her life to serving her family, church and community. She played an active role in the farm, milking cows and ensuring that the farming operation ran smoothly. Her commitment to doing what was right, even when it wasn’t easy, stood as a model for those who knew her. Despite the busyness of home and farm life, Feryn always found time to volunteer at her children’s schools and serve her church.
She and Ray cherished their many trips to Florida, their home away from home, especially when they could share the time with family. But above all, Feryn’s greatest joy came from being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She poured her heart into caring for her grandchildren, leaving them with an enduring legacy of faith and love. Even in her final years, when words were no longer within reach, her great-grandchildren were still able to receive her love through a smile or a gentle touch.
The last few years of Feryn’s life were marked by her unshakable faith. In the face of life’s most difficult challenges, she never wavered, always trusting that this life was but a part of her journey to Heaven.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have supported them with prayers, love, and compassion throughout this journey. A special thank you to the staff at Southbridge Kemptville whose exceptional care made Feryn’s final years comfortable and full of dignity. We are also deeply grateful to Feryn’s church family at Cornerstone Wesleyan for their unwavering support. Our heartfelt thanks to Pastor Dan and Wendy Wallis, and their team, for providing us with such care and compassion during this time.
