Everett Wilbert Read

March 3, 1937 – August 25, 2025

Everett Wilbert Read, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, at the age of 88, surrounded by his loving family at the farm.

Everett was predeceased by his devoted wife Dorothy. He was a hard-working dairy farmer who enjoyed working the land and harvesting the crops with help from his family.

He is survived by his loving daughters: Joanne Read (Bill Davies), Heather Clarke (Kevin), and Lori Porteous (Jason). Everett was a proud and devoted grandfather to Chris (Tanya), Lindsey (Charles), Conner (Ashley), Brendan (Sierra), and Dylan (Bryn), step-grandfather to Parker and Garrett, and great-grandfather to Weston and Clarke. He will also be sadly missed by his dog, Hunter.

Everett is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Betty Carroll (late Tom) and Grace Scott (late Bert), and predeceased by his sisters Emma Lafleur (late Bill), Willa McKay (late Basil), and Erma Marcenko (late Bill) as well as his sister-in-law, Mary Gordon (late Melbourne), and brother-in-law, Maurice Saunders (Diane). Additionally, he leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

A private service will be held in Everett’s honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation Dialysis Unit or to a charity of choice.
