Evelyn Kimsey

KIMSEY, Evelyn Pearl (nee Newton)

4th August 1923 - 5th December 2022

Passed away peacefully on 5th December 2022 at New Orchard Lodge.

Evelyn was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Eric (May 2022), much loved mother of Caroline, Robert (Ali) and adored Grandma of Jess and Toby.

Born on Grange Avenue, Ottawa.  She had a full life and amongst many other things attended the Conservatory of Music.  Worked at Avro Canada, Internal Affairs and with the RCMP.  She also received a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in Toronto.  Evelyn decided to go to England before she travelled to Europe with her singing but instead, she met Eric and they married and remained in England for 30 years.   They moved back to Ottawa in 1987.  She very much enjoyed travelling with Eric and experiencing different cultures and cuisines.

I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to the staff at New Orchard Lodge for their outstanding care of Mum, especially through the trials of the pandemic and her last weeks.

Dear Mum, wishing angels speed you to eternal love, joy, and peace.
