Peacefully at Fairview Manor, Almonte, Ontario on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Beloved daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Jessup) Richards. Survived by her siblings Annie Oulton, Muriel Mose, Marjorie Hazelwood (Don), Glenn, Urbane (Joan) and Murray (Ruth). Predeceased by June, John, Evelene and Wilma. Elva will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her nieces Charlene, Shelley, Victoria and by nephews Mervyn and Daryl. Elva spent most of her working life in Boston and New York. Upon her retirement she moved to Virginia and then to her native Ontario. Friends may pay their respects at the Almonte Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte, on Saturday, July 5, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Almonte Civitan Hall, 500 Almonte Street, on Sunday, July 6, at 2:30 p.m. Interment Guthrie United Cemetery, Clayton.
