It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward “Ted” George Mackenzie at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on August 4, 2026, at the age of 83, following a sudden illness.
In his final weeks, Ted was amongst people who loved him most. During his time in the hospital, family and loved ones were grateful for the precious opportunity to spend time with him sharing memories, laughter, and words of love. We were able to remind Ted of how much he meant to each of us, and he shared his love with us in return.
His dear friend and Pastor, Jim Redner, was a comforting presence during this time, offering strength, compassion, and support to Ted and our family throughout his final days.
These moments together brought solace during a difficult time and will remain among the memories we treasure the most.
Ted passed with his daughter, Lisa by his side. Surrounded by love.
Ted will be missed and lovingly remembered by his brother Ross, his daughters, Lisa, Joanne and Tabetha, his son Ted and his many grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held in his honour where family and friends gathered to share memories to celebrate the life he lived. Following the celebration, Ted’s ashes were carefully spread beneath a tree on his property. A place of cherished childhood memories and adventures with his grandchildren.
Though saying goodbye was never something we were ready for, we are grateful for the time we did share with Ted, for the love we shared with him, for the lessons he taught us and for the memories he leaves behind.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved, always.
