Earl Charles Henry Thomas

Earl peacefully passed away in his sleep on February 22, 2026. He loved life and he lived it his way … before passing, he decided to take a look back at the life that he loved and yes, it was worth it. Earl was born in Ottawa, Ontario and spent the better part of his life following in his father’s footsteps (alongside his brother, Gerald). He loved the life he led dealing with agriculture and all that it entailed. He was also blessed to have his mother who made life at home very comfortable and was also a part of the business. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Agnes (Hewlett) Thomas, his brother Gerald and Beatrice (Bandy), and his cherished friend, Martha McLean.

Earl loved his Boston Terriers although Jacob (soon to be called Jake) stole his heart. Early mornings found Earl shaving while Jake sat patiently waiting to find out what was on the morning menu.

He will be missed by his brother Donald and Myrna (Erickson) Thomas, nieces Karen Thomas & her children Mike, David and Jennifer; Linda Thomas-Eady & her children Emerson and Addison; his goddaughter Jill Rivington (Robinson), husband Brian and their four children Cristie, Kyle, Chelsea, & Jackie whom he considered family.

A celebration of Earl’s life will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (Between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 2:00- 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Queensway Carleton Hospital
