Donna Louise Lavell

Donna passed away suddenly on October 10th at the age of 78. Best friend and wife of 59 years to Jim, Donna was the loving mom of Sue (Scott), Lorrie (Jeff) and Karen (Dave). Amazing Grama to Megan, Liam, Katie, Ben, Jackson and Griffin. She was the centre of our universe and fiercely supportive of us all. The keeper of our stories, the heart of our family and our greatest cheerleader.

Donna kept a beautiful home and made sure you felt welcomed, whether you knew her for 40 years, or this was your first visit. She was a consummate host, from Saturday morning coffee to Thanksgiving dinner for 17. There was always room for one more at the table.

From a houseboat in BC, to a cottage in the 1000 Islands, a ski weekend in St Sauveur, or her sister’s home on the water, we often gathered as a family to laugh, share meals and create memories that will last a lifetime.

She was a stand-in mother figure to so many, a voice of reason and sounding board for all.

She will be missed by all who knew her. Forever in our hearts.
