Donald Mckean

Donald Bruce McKean age 61 of Ottawa passed away on August 17/21.

Celebration and Burial will occur at Highland Park Cemetery on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 12:30 p.m.

Already missed by his friends and staff at TCE, Donald passed peacefully with each hand being held as stories of good times were shared.

Following life’s voyage that included adjusting to the progression of Dementia, Don has left many people behind whose days he filed  with smiles and laughter. Though the last part of his path saw many changes in his interactions he will be forever remembered as a kind soul.

His concerns regarding neighbors  recycling boxes to the curb too  early on Wednesday and not retrieved soon enough on Thursday would have had you  believing  he was a City Counselor. To say he liked things in their place and a place for all things would be an understatement .

Those of us who were fortunate to be a part of his world over the years were given opportunity to know him as a gentleman who enjoyed some of the simpler things in life such quiet moments of sharing a cup of coffee  or listening to music .

He had a great sense of humor and loved teasing those he was close to.  Don was a natural at making people feel comfortable  in his presence due to his pleasant personality and his contagious laughter.  His  heartwarming compassion provided us with many memories to keep him with us as he moves on from us to the next part of his journey.
