Diane passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the age of 82.
Beloved wife of the late Noel Bourne. Dear mother of Paul (Ann), Michelle (Rene) and Chris (Sarah). Loving grandmother of Lindsay, Paul-Jody “PJ”, Ashley, Gabrielle, Genevieve, Carl, Eric, Samantha, Kelcy, Remy, Caleb and great grandmother of Jessica, Katie, Vanessa, Adrian, Brianna, Emily, Emmett, James, one on the way, Madison, Faith, Ryker, Nicole, Leo, Lovelyn, Clara, Myah, Nova, Jackson, Mason, Cryus, Abby and Iris.
Also survived by her sisters Jeanie and Karen. Predeceased by her parents Frederick and Florence Cormier (MacKay); brother Ronald and sister Noel.
Diane, Mom, Aunt Diane, G’Ma, Grandma, or however you knew her, was loved by many. She was born to Frederick (Dewy) and Florence in Halifax, NS. Diane and her siblings, Jeanie, Ronald, Karen, and Noel grew up in Spryfield, NS. before coming to Toronto in 1958, when Diane was around 16 years old.
In 1959, Diane met Noel, the love of her life, while visiting her uncle Aubrey who was married to Noel’s sister Doreen. Noel said he liked Diane “right from the start” and four years later, on March 23, 1963, they were married. In March 2023, Noel and Diane celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Diane and Noel had four children Paul (1964), Pamela (1966), Michelle (1967) and Chris (1971). Pamela was born with hydrocephalus and died when she was only five months old.
Diane was a social butterfly who loved to play games. She’d chat with anyone and everyone and was usually the last one to leave the party, church or anyplace there was someone to chat with.
Diane loved her family and supported them throughout the years. She attended events at the kids’ schools, sports, band recitals, quizzes, and more. She was proud of her family and cared deeply for them. She also cared for their spiritual wellbeing. In the early years she taught her children about Jesus Christ and always kept them and all her grandchildren in her prayers. She loved the Lord Jesus, and served Him to the end. Her greatest desire is that her grandchildren and great grandchildren would love and serve Him also.
Diane was well loved and loved well. She will be greatly missed.
