Deborah Benita Anne Lalande

April 4, 1955 — May 29, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah Benita Anne Lalande (née Campbell), age 71 on Friday, May 29th, 2026, at the Civic Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Charles; her children Andréa (Steve), Julie (Michal), Matthew (Elizabeth) and Emmanuel (Josée-Anne); her eight grandchildren Tristan, Brynna, Calix, Aurélie, Leodegan, Maëva, Aelin and Laurent; her brother Paul (Mary and their daughter Samantha); her sister Sharon (John and their children Justin, Tanya, Joshua) and many other beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Benita Ashby, Ronald Campbell and her brother Steven Campbell.

Debs’ life was led by love, support and encouragement. She always put others before herself and never complained. She was grateful for the small moments, treasured relationships and loved making memories. Spending summer days at Lancasters Resort brought her such happiness, creating an annual family vacation for over four decades and now a tradition for her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved being the wife of her husband, Charles. “My Charles” as she would say. Building a life together full of laughter and love, a home full of joy and welcoming to all, demonstrating to each of her children what was possible with love. Being a Mum brought her such happiness. Teaching us to be good humans, to love hard, to find joy in all that we do and to never say “good-bye” without saying “I love you”.

She always had an ear to listen, advice to give, a hug for everyone, and a Momma to many. Spent countless hours, days, and years in leadership roles with Girl Guides and Block Parents. Always carried herself with grace, was selfless, loving, generous, and thoughtful…truly the best person inside and out. She is missed dearly and loved by many. To have known Debbie is genuinely a gift to one’s heart and soul. Her legacy and energy will be cherished always and will be carried on through her family and friends.

It is with deep sadness that we say

“We Love You, We Miss You and One Day We Will Dance Together Again”
