Peacefully, with family by his side, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 61 years to Lorraine (née Kennedy). Loving father of Susan (Tony) Mayo and Julie (Joe) Furano. Proud Papa to Brandon Mayo, Kevin Mayo, Lisa (Kyle) MacDonald, and John Furano. Great-grandfather of Jaxson MacDonald, Marco MacDonald (predeceased), and Hailey MacDonald.

Predeceased by his parents, Edison and Mary (née Jenkins); his brother, Eddie; his brothers-in-law Ken, Mervin, Phil Kennedy, and Ken McBride; his sisters-in-law Elaine, Alice and Shirley Kennedy; and his nephew, Paul Kennedy. He is survived by his brother-in-law Joe (Lucille) Kennedy and sister-in-law Maureen (née Kennedy) McBride. David will also be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

For those who wish, memorial donations in David’s memory may be made to The Royal Ottawa Foundation or Hospice Care at May Court.

Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Road), on Saturday, January 24, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the Chapel at 12 noon. A reception will follow at Tubman’s.
