Colleen Barbara O'Meara

Peacefully, Colleen passed away at home in her 74th year on Tuesday, November 11th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Colleen will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Mike Reichhelt, and her two fur babies, Parker and Bridget.

Predeceased by her parents Joan (née Gorman) and Joseph O’Meara of Ottawa. Survived by her devoted sisters Christine (Paul), Cathy (John), Carolyn (Pierre), and Cindy (Chad). Mother of Lindsay Gowling (Christie) and step-mother of James (Christina). Grandmother of Jordyn, Logan, James, Adam, and Asher. Caring aunt to Heather, Sarah, Emma, and Shannon, and great-aunt to Evan, Lily, Liam, and Ewan. Mourning her loss are aunts Pat Royds and Kaye O’Meara, as well as many cousins and friends who touched Colleen’s life.

Colleen was very proud of her 40-year career with the federal government, retiring from Fisheries and Oceans.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Ottawa Hospital General Campus Oncology Unit, the PSWs from St. Elizabeth, and the nurses from CareFor, all for their care and dedication.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
