Living with cancer since 2019 has been both a blessing and a curse for Cheryl. A blessing, because it gave her time to think about life and appreciate living it. Cheryl seized the good days in packing them full, with family, friends, travel and good food. A curse, because she is no longer present in spending time with her husband and soulmate Gord Rector, Ian, the light of Cheryl and Gord’s eyes, sister Kelly (Peg), friends who are family, family, friends, neighbours, co-workers and all who crossed her path. Cheryl will be remembered across the globe as a baker extraordinaire who always brought the most important ingredient to every recipe she crafted; LOVE.

An intimate celebration of Cheryl’s life is being planned. Donations in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, for Cervical Cancer Research (support.cancer.ca) and the Ottawa Food Bank would be greatly appreciated.  Tributes, condolences and donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
