Cheryl Elizabeth Laronde

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Cheryl Elizabeth Laronde (nee Rutter), aged 73 in Ottawa, Ontario on October 11, 2025, after a long courageous battle with cancer since being diagnosed in 2021.

She is survived by her husband of more then 50 years, David John Laronde, of Ottawa, her daughter, Dawne Valerie of Ottawa and her son, Philip David (Patricia) of Ottawa.

Cheryl is predeceased by her adopting family, father William Norman Rutter III of Ottawa in 2010, mother Jannette Bell (Provan) of Ottawa in 2007 and adopted brother, Donald William of Ottawa in 2013.

She will be remembered by her siblings Linda Morrison and Roger Burden, nieces Denise and Heather Morrison, along with nephew Michael Gott. Cheryl is predeceased by siblings Deborah Teeter and Sandra Gott.

Visitation and funeral services to be held at Tubman Funeral Home, Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, Ontario, K2H 8H7, 613-722-6559, on Saturday October 18, 2025 at 9:30am, followed by the burial at Pinecrest Cemetery at 2500 Baseline Road, Nepean, Ontario, K2C 3H9, 613-801-8051.

She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all family and friends and by her best friend Joan Johnston.
