Bruce Drysdale

d. November 7, 2025

On Friday, November 7th, we lost a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a truly remarkable man who loved with all his heart, as we loved him. He was surrounded by love and had family at his side. We will celebrate his beautiful life of goodness, integrity, and generosity.

He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Effie Drysdale of Westport, Ontario, and his brothers, Leslie and Ross, as well as his sisters, Gladys Mulligan and Norma. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gail Drysdale (Campion), and is the cherished father of Sheryl (Chris Foran), Brent (Linda Morris), and Greg (Kim Guertin). A loving man, he extended his arms to everyone, welcoming Maureen Flynn (David Caulfield and children Kathleen and John) as an honorary daughter to his family. He was a cherished grandfather to Ross Foran (Sabrina Alletson), Jessica Foran (Tyler Laverty), Matthew Foran (Katherine Parkinson), Maureen Foran, Katie Foran (Axel Munyeshuli), Elizabeth Drysdale (Staveley Lodu), and Victoria Drysdale (Darren Norris). Bruce was an exceptional great-grandpa to Chloe, Isabella, June, and Ronan. Bruce will forever be in the hearts of his family, including many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bruce was a dedicated and hard-working Chartered Accountant and senior partner with Welch LLP for over 50 years. Deeply admired by colleagues and valued by clients, he was known for his warmth, integrity and unwavering professionalism.

He was a superior gardener and enjoyed golf, fishing, and hunting. Coming to Ottawa from Westport, he never lost the love for his home, and he kept close ties to the family homestead, where his son, Brent, currently resides. Over the years, Bruce was an active member of City View United Church in various capacities. Dedicated to his personal relationships, Bruce and his wife, Gail, spent many winter holiday seasons in Florida with their lifelong friends Kent and Adeline McLean.

Thank you to the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for the compassionate end-of-life care they provided.

Friends may attend a visitation at Tubman Funeral Homes Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore & Baseline Rd.), Nepean on Thursday November 13, 2025 from 2pm - 4 pm and 7pm - 9 pm.  Funeral Service to take place in the Chapel on Friday November 14, 2025 at 11 am followed by a reception.  A private family burial will take place in Westport, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation, consider The Ottawa Heart Institute, the Ottawa Food Bank, or the Westport Lions Club Mobility Bus at 63 Mountain Rd, Westport, ON, K0G 1X0, which were all close to his heart.
