Bruce Edward Chute

We are saddened to announce the passing of Bruce Edward Chute age 78 on September 10, 2023, surrounded by family at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice after battling what can only be described as an epic 16 year battle with congestive heart failure.

Bruce was born and raised in Oshawa Ontario. He moved to Ottawa with his wife Margaret in 1970 to work at the Department of National Defense. They chose the small village of Marathon in the Ottawa Valley to design and build their family home where they still reside 51 years later. This is where they met many, many of their lifelong friends.

He could often be found tinkering in his woodshop, riding on his lawnmower, fishing, working on his model airplanes or running the local model rocket club. Bruce will always be remembered for sharing his enthusiasm for his hobbies and his dry sense of humor.

Bruce will be missed dearly by his wife Margaret (Pingle). His children Jason (Kerri), Jennifer (Ian) and Kristine (Sean). Loving Papa to Jacob, Ashton, Zoe, Kristján, Lola and Quinn. Brother to Russell (Hendrika). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Clara Chute.
