Bruce Chapman

December 12, 1945 — October 26, 2023

 

Lauder Bruce Chapman peacefully went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2023.  He is survived by his loving partner Dan Byrne and sister Lyn (Ed).  Bruce was born in Ottawa on December 12, 1945, to Fred and Laura Chapman (nee Corry).  Bruce’s passions were family, railroading, friends, railroading, baking chocolate chip cookies, railroading, cats, railroading…

 

Dan and Lyn want to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses in the ICCU-B at Wilbert J. Keon Building, Ottawa Heart Institute for their compassion and care of Bruce during his final days.  Special thanks to Heather McNab for all her logistical help and support. 
 
Visitation will be held at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road (at Roosevelt) on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral service will be held at Kitchissippi United Church, 630 Island Park Drive, Ottawa on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11 a.m., reception to follow.  The funeral service will be live streamed and the link can be found on Bruce’s tribute page at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com.  Private family burial will take place at Beechwood Cemetery.  For those wishing, donations in memory of Bruce can be made to Kitchissipi United Church.
