On Monday, June 27, 2022, the world lost one of its finest citizens. Brent was a true gentleman. He was the kindest, most caring, compassionate, witty and dependable man we had the pleasure of knowing. We were so fortunate to have him in our lives. He left this world peacefully with his loving family by his side. He leaves behind to mourn his loss his wife and best friend Brenda, son Alex (fiancée Natasha), his brother Dennis (Marlene deceased), niece Lisa (Michael Paterson), great niece Kenzie, his sister Patricia (Stephen Leyland), nieces Stephanie and Ashley, brother-in-law Barry Dowdall (Sandra), nieces Andrea, Hilary (Barra Neary), great niece Eleanor, Monica (Andrew Hardaker), great nephew Brooks and brother-in-law Robert Dowdall.
Brent enjoyed his 45 years with the RCMP as a regular member (retired 1995 as a Corporal) and as a public servant (retired 2015). Brent was an avid golfer and enjoyed 20 years playing with Claude, Bev and Al. He enjoyed his years as President of Kanata Little League as well as coaching. He was proud to have been instrumental in successfully negotiating with the City for the construction of the batting cage at Upper Kinsmen field in Kanata. He will be remembered for his commitment and contribution to baseball in Kanata.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 20 Young Road, Kanata on Wednesday, July 13th at 2 p.m. Reception to follow in Church Hall.
