Joyal, Bradley (Brad) Edward

It is with great sadness that the family of Brad Joyal announces his passing suddenly on February 17, 2022 at the young age of 52. Brad was born in Edmonton, Alberta on February 9, 1970.

Survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Victoria Joyal (Hamway).

Devoted father to Sydney (17), Ryder (15), Pyper (11) and the family fur baby, Walter. Brad was the cherished son of Edward and Eileen Joyal and brother to Trevor (Dorian) Joyal. Brad will be lovingly remembered by his in-laws Omer and Amale Hamway, sisters-in-law Annette (Stuart) Partridge and Sandra (Darcy) Peters. Brad will be dearly remembered by his nieces, nephew, cousins, extended family, and many friends. Brad is predeceased by his grandparents; Luke and Olive McDonough and Tony and Emiliene Joyal.

Brad began his hockey career with the Edmonton Oilers as a locker room attendant, before moving to Ottawa to work as the Massage Therapist for 10 seasons with the Ottawa Senators. Once Brad had children, he spent many hours at the rink coaching for KGHA and KMHA community hockey associations. When Brad left the Ottawa Senators in 2005, he then began working with his father-in-law at the family cheese store in the Byward Market, eventually taking over the business. His love of sales lead him to opening a second location, the House of Cheese and Deli in Barrhaven in 2018.

The family would like to thank the companionate staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Dorota Nowodworski (Deputy Chief of Staff) and to those on site who assisted Brad on the afternoon of February 17, 2022.
