Betty Reddick

Betty Jane Reddick (née Cassidy) passed away peacefully on January 11, 2023. A near lifelong resident of Ottawa,  Betty worked at Amnesty International for many years before retiring in 1993. She loved to travel, and she and her husband would routinely enjoy adventures all around the world following her retirement. Betty was a dear friend and neighbor to countless people in her 90-plus years and was always willing to help someone if she could. To have dinner and a drink with her always felt like a special occasion, whether it was your first time or your fiftieth. She enjoyed a good card game whenever she had the chance to play and loved the music of Perry Como and Bing Crosby.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Gordon Reddick, and her parents Jane Eva Cassidy (nee Mather) and Bernard “Lyons” Cassidy. Left to cherish Bettys memory is her daughter, Beverley. She is also survived by her grandsons Stephen (Libby) Sandoz, Michael (Teresa) Sandoz and great-grandchildren Piper and Austin, whom she all adored as a loving “Granny”. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Bettys family would like to offer thanks to all those who helped care for her during her final years including the staff at Embassy West Senior Living, as well as friends and neighbours too numerous to name.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Tubman Funeral Home – Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Ottawa from 10 AM until time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 12 PM. A reception to follow immediately thereafter.  A private burial will take place on January 25, 2023.
