At the age of 90, Betty passed peacefully at Garden Terrace Long Term Care Home on March 4, 2022 of natural causes.
She was predeceased by her husband John, son Gordon and granddaughter Candice. As well as her parents Ned and Katie Wilson, and siblings; Ambrose (Eleanor), Doris (Murray), Fergie (Thelma) and Margaret (George).
Betty was a much loved mother to Marg O’Brien, Ron Kelly and Dan (Kim) Kelly. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Tammy (Graeme), Jonathan (Sara), Tracy (Mike), Meghan (Joe), Ashley and Kevin. And her great grandchildren Marie-Josée, Brianna, Noah, William, Easton, Ava, Elizabeth and AJ.
She will also be missed by the surviving members of the Wilson and Kelly families.

Never one to stay home, Betty was an avid golfer after 40+ years of games at Poplar Grove and Metcalfe Golf Clubs, she displayed her many trophies with pride and was always happy to offer tips to friends. She was also a regular at various Bingo halls and Euchre games, often walking away with a little extra cash in her pocket.

An avid baker, a family gathering was not complete without a collection of her homemade pies, cookies, famous pumpkin and banana bread. She would also make sure everyone had jars to take home of strawberry jam, marmalade, raspberry jam and red pepper jelly. Betty’s delicious jams and jellies were also shared with friends, to acknowledge times of assistance or acts of kindness.

Family and friends may pay respects at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Wednesday, March 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday March 10, at 11 a.m. Spring interment St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery, Woodlawn.

Attendees at the visitation/funeral/reception will be required to wear a mask.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to an organization of your choice.
