Beatrice (Bea) Fumiko Tanaka

Passed away peacefully at home in her 92nd year with her family by her side after a short battle with cancer. Predeceased by her loving husband Jim of 52 years in September 2016. Cherished mother to Stewart and Allison. Grandmother to fur baby ShoSho. Beatrice is also survived by her sister, Blanche and predeceased by her sister Florence (Isao), and her brother’s Edmund (Doris) and Greg. She will be missed by her nephews and nieces Neil, Denise, Dale, Lorraine, Karen, Jane, Gary, David and Raymond. She will be missed by her many long-time friends, in particular; John, Miriam and Noa van Eerdenburg. 

The family would like to thank her physicians, Dr. Twiddy, Dr. Swami; as well as her nurses and PSW’s for their professional, compassionate and dedicated care. 

Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Thursday June 4th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Stephens Anglican Church, 930 Watson Street, Ottawa on Wednesday June 10th at 11am. Reception to follow.

 In lieu of flowers, mom had requested donations to be made to St. Stephen's Anglican Church, the Ottawa Japanese Community Centre (OJCC), or a charity of your choice.
