Beatrice Marjorie Blackwell (nee Cuthbertson), passed peacefully May 27, 2025, in Ottawa, her home of 45 years. Born in Montreal, June 8, 1931, to Emma Marsh (May) and John Ephraim Cuthbertson, the youngest of four sisters, she spent much of her life in Deux Montagnes/Saint-Eustache, QU.
Bea always shared the kindness of her heart as a dear sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmom, great grandmom. Bea played piano, sang all the time, participated in choirs and was a member of several United Church congregations over her entire life including her last at Bells Corners United Church.
Over the years, she cherished the raising of her sons, supported their school activities, family camping trips, loved time with her grandchildren and in later years was thrilled by meeting her great grandchildren. As with her joy of sunny days, Bea will continue smiling down on us with warm, cherished memories.
Predeceased by her beloved husband (Harold) and sisters (Margaret, Dorothy, Olive). Survived by sons Stephen (Patti), Dave (Peggy), grandchildren Christopher (Jenn), Alanna (Brendan), Tyler (Jordie), great-grandchildren Lauren, Mackenzie, Beau and many nieces and nephews and their families.
A special thank you to the staff of Stillwater Creek Residence in Bells Corners for kindly providing Bea their caring support over the past few years, and Civic Hospital geriatric orthopedics staff during her final weeks. Donations are welcome to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation or to the charity of choice.
