Barry Alan Dolan, brave, strong, with the heart of a lion, never giving up hope, has died on Sunday January 11, 2026.
Alan lovingly shared his adult life with wife Donna, most devoted father to Kalea Greco (Paul), Paul (Chantal), Alison (Jon Bailey), proudest grampa to Anna Lynn & Bree Everly Dolan and Murphy Alan Bailey. Survived by sisters Rebecca Grant (late Brydon), Colleen Muldoon (Barry Baird), his Cooney family, Ann (late Alf), Carolyn Cooney (late Leo), Rosemary Stephenson (Mark), Arlene Bruce (David), Sharron Kelly (Raymond), Susan Muldoon (Mike), John (Deb Mackinnon), Laura Cooney (late Allan), Pauline Holmes (Peter), Bob (Janice), Julie Sheehan (Marty), Sherri MacCaskill (Kent), and an army of nieces and nephews, a wonderful group he considered as friends. Predeceased by parents Mary and Ken Dolan, brother Danny (late Karen), father and mother in law Don and Mary Cooney.
We are comforted in our grief by cherished memories of Alan’s amazing joy for life and laughter. Alan embraced his Irish heritage, loved his fishing adventures with Marty, strumming his guitar, playing and watching hockey, everything about Christmas, travelling, a long brisk morning walk, lunch at the pub, his home, and most of all he was truly fulfilled in life as a husband, dad and grampa.
A private celebration of life will take place and arrangements are in care of Tubman Funeral Homes Carp Chapel. The service will be live streamed and the link is provided below.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Unit at Bruyere Saint-Vincent Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
