Archibald Munden King

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Archibald (Archie) King at the age of 90 years. He is predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Joyce (née Carkner). He will be greatly missed by his children, Dawna (King) and Brenda (Hyndman) (Bill), his grandchildren, Matthew and Kayla (Hyndman), Lindsay and Tyler (Gatien) and his siblings, the late Roy (Dorothy), Roxanne (Jim), Margaret (Lawrence), Gloria, Mark (Wanda), Enid, and Lorne (Carolyn).

Our family expresses our gratitude to the staff at the Peter D. Clarke Home for their care in dad’s final months and days.

There will be a memorial service held for Archie at 11 am on Friday October 24, 2025 at Bells Corners United Church, 3955 Old Richmond Rd., Ottawa, ON, with coffee and snacks offered afterwards.

I have had 90 years

to experience life

in all it’s seasons,

the bloom of youth

filled with family,

childhood fun and wonder,

I grew into adulthood,

worked hard,

married and had a family

which grew before my eyes,

I grew old with grace

despite the indignities of illness.

It is now my time to rest,

to join the heavenly choir

but I will always be with you.

Look up and I will be there

as ever present

as I was in life.
