Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving children, after a short battle with cancer.
Anne was born in Yarmouth and grew up in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, the daughter of Russell and Ellen Sholds (deceased). She graduated from Acadia University and moved to Ottawa in 1954. Her professional career spanned 32 years with NRC, Information Canada and the Government Telecommunication Agency.
Anne enjoyed travelling and returned often for holidays in her beloved Nova Scotia. She remained fit as she advanced through her eighties and continued to enjoy hiking and canoeing in Algonquin Park.
She was an active member of St. George’s Anglican Church, Fitzroy Harbour, which she served in various capacities over the years.
Anne is survived by her dearly loved children, Karen Vannier (Rob), Casey Kieran and Russ Senior, granddaughter, Hazelle Fernando, and her treasured sister, Jean Doan. Also survived by her niece Patricia Kell (John Rasmussen), nephews John Kell (Laura) and David Kell (Helene) and their children. Predeceased by her loving husband Frank Revill Senior and her ex-husband S. Roy Gwilt.
A celebration of life will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.) on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
