Andrew (Andy) died peacefully on April 14, 2023, after a lengthy battle with cancer.  Beloved husband of Marilyn, proud father of Chris and Jamie, dear father-in-law of Lori and Stephanie.  Loving grandfather of Brayden, Blakely, Noah and Tessa.  Survived by sisters-in-law Barbara (Graham), Shirley (Charlie), nephew Shawn (Karol-Ann) and niece Stephanie (Jeff). Predeceased by his sister Lana.

Andy loved sports, fishing, the Dallas Cowboys, mentorship, fellowship with friends, however he loved nothing more than his family.  Andy's most precious moments were when he was coaching his two sons either on the baseball diamonds or on the basketball courts. During football season, he and the family gathered every Sunday to cheer on the Dallas Cowboys, regardless of how bad they were.  Andy had other hobbies that he enjoyed.  Throughout Andy's life, he always enjoyed mentoring young people.  Full of wisdom, Andy had a way of teaching and connecting with people that was unique and one of his gifts.  His favourite hobby though was fishing.  As a child Andy spent many summers with his parents on the Ottawa River cottaging, which is where his love for fishing first started.  Many hours were spent by Andy either on the Ottawa River or on the inland waterways in Florida later in life, fishing.  In his latter years, he developed a passion for writing (another unique talent), proudly completing a novel.  Andy's smartest and best decision in life was to marry his amazing wife, Marilyn.  As a couple for over 48 years, they overcame all of life's challenges and together raised two wonderful children and have been instrumental with their four equally wonderful grandchildren.  Andy will miss his grandchildren grow up.

Many thanks to the Oncology Hematology team at the Ottawa General Hospital, MDU staff, Dr. A Law, Dr. A Morariu for their care over the years and to the home care nurses, palliative care staff and the Maid program.

Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd) on Thursday, April 20th from 3:30-6 p.m.
