Andre Normand Longchamps

At the age of 81, Andre Normand Longchamps of Ottawa, passed away peacefully at home on November 30, 2024. 

Andre is survived by his wife, Janice Longchamps (nee Cormier) of 46 years and his three children, Stephanie (Daryl), Lisa, and Trisha (Greg), and his grandchild, Kathryn. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donalda and Arthur Longchamps and his siblings, Marcel, Raymond, Lucille Gravelle and Jeannine Arbour. 

Andre was a good husband, father, uncle, brother and friend and will be missed by his family and his many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. 

Andre attended AMJ Electronic College in Ottawa and received a diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology. He worked for the CBC in Ottawa for 30 years. 

Andre was an avid walker and cyclist and stayed fit trying new things and challenging himself to live longer for his family. He was often seen fishing at his cottage waiting for his next big catch. He loved photography, music and sports, especially football. But most of all, his greatest passion was spending time with his wife, children and grandchild. 

The family would like to send a special thank you to the Ontario Health at Home palliative care team for their excellent care during these difficult times. 

As per Andre’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are invited to consider a donation to a charity of their choice.
