We are dearly sad to announce Agripino Dela Cruz passing at Saint Vincent Hospital on September 26th, 2025 at 10:18am in Ottawa, Ontario. He passed away at the age of 68.
His beloved Wife Imelda Santos and two daughters Khryslyne and Irilyne will carry on his legacy as he is no longer with us. He was a man filled with laughter, jokes, had a kind peaceful heart and was a man of few words.
Agripino immigrated to Canada from the Philippines to be with his wife after living life on the oceans as a Seaman. Together they had built a future together and created a wonderful loving family, made a home and a new beginning for themselves abroad.
He was a man full of song and always found time to sing his favourite music regardless of where he was. Many of you will forever remember him Karaoking the night away at Filipino parties. Over time just know these memories were one of his everlasting memories here on earth. Tapping his hands on his leg or tapping his foot to the beat as he sang his favourite songs microphone in hand.
For the majority of his life he had a great admiration for cars, even went to College at an older age to study them to fulfill his lifelong passion that he had as a child. In his lifetime he drove multiple kinds of cars fast or slow with a nice engine rev. The fruits of his labour fixed many cars with his hardworking hands to provide for his family.
During his journey, he had been battling cancer with a fighting spirit for 8 years. He never gave up and wanted to do everything he could to stay on this earth with his family. In his last days he was surrounded by family and friends of his. He will now be laid to rest peacefully.
The family would like to thank Saint Vincent Hospital for caring and being with Agripino during his last days and weeks. You made him feel comfortable and welcomed during his stay. We greatly appreciate all the nurses, doctors and volunteers that looked after him. With their great attention and compassion, he had a longer time here in this world.
Thank you to the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Irving Greenberg Cancer Centre and the Ottawa General Hospital for looking after him over the course of 8 years during his many treatments.
We appreciate his Pharmacy, Kanata Mews for looking after him, and creating friendships and a lively companionship not only to him but to his family as well.
