Stephen Jones

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Stephen Michael Jones at the Queensway Carleton Hospital with family by his side on Monday November 21, 2022.

Stephen left us to join his loving parents Michael and Jo-ann (nee McComb) Jones, his “Nanny” Janet McComb, Grandparents Lorne and Vivian Jones and his Uncle Jim McComb.

He leaves behind his wife Kim (nee Sturgeon), his stepfather Ronald Hughes, his Aunt Wendy McComb (nee Patterson), close cousins Sherry (Dan), Mark and Chris (Jodi). “Cousin Steve”, will be sorely missed by Braxton and Lilly. He will also be remembered by his Aunt Debbie Kinross and Uncle Ken Kinross, his cousins Robbie, Geoff, Melissa Thompson (Brad). He was predeceased by his Aunt Jennifer (Penny) Jones. He will be remembered fondly by many friends and neighbours and his NAPA family.

Stephen was born at the Victoria Hospital in London Ontario on July 29, 1978 to Michael and Jo-ann.

Steve was such a kind and giving man, always wanting to lend a hand. He was a passionate Sens fan, Audi enthusiast, and loved watching the UFC .

In his younger years he spent many weekends touring on his Ninja. Many of his friends will remember great summer parties on the back patio by the pool and hot tub. If you had an automotive question Steve was your guy, NAPA won't be the same without him.

Steve will be remembered as the neighbourhood watch. Always ready to come running with baton stick in hand when the neighbours daughter was home alone. Long chats about cool cars and offering help when asked or teaching the kids how to use a new tool. Steve was just a big kid at heart.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the compassionate and exceptional care he received from the ICU staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital.

Family and friends are invited to the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.) from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Friday December 9th

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to OMHA (Ottawa Mental Health Association), CAMH Foundation (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation) or Make-A-Wish Canada.
