Peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Howard Erickson. Dear mother of Graeme (Rhondi), Louise (Rory McCormick), Cameron (Kim) and Jeanette (David Robertson). Proud and loving grandmother of Josh, Dan, Grant, Connor, Duncan, Rory, Shona, Gavin and Malcolm – she rarely missed a hockey or soccer game or school performance. Caring stepmother of Derek, Kevin, Jeff and Kyle (Neila), and step-grandmother to Emma, Ryan, Tyler, Melissa, Rebecca and Jack. She also leaves behind her sister, Eve, and brothers Ian, Andy and Bill, and their families. Devoted to family and caring for others her entire life – but always with a sense of humour and Scottish pragmatism. Selfless to the very end, “Gran” came to Canada as a young woman to give her children and grandchildren the greatest opportunities. The matriarch of the Baird clan in Canada, she will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all those who had the privilege to know her.

Respecting Joan’s wishes, there will not be a funeral; immediate family will gather for a private celebration of life.
