Bruce Kinkade

February 6, 1930 — April 11, 2021

Kinkade – Bruce Edmund

In hospital on Sunday, April 11, 2021 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Jean (Eastman). Wonderful father of Heather (Pat Walsh) and Daryl (Sonya). Cherished grandfather of Hillary, Trevor and Cameron Walsh; Emma, Gracie and Devin Kinkade.  Predeceased by his sister Charlotte Reaney (late Cecil). Also fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, as well as his many dear friends.

Born in Kenmore, ON Bruce grew up enjoying time outdoors, trapping and fishing on the Castor River, and working on the family farm. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Jean. Together they built a house, a family and a life in Richmond, ON where he lived independently until last week. Bruce enjoyed his work at R.L. Crain Ltd. where he was employed for 44 years.

Bruce was very active in the Richmond community and remained so throughout his senior years. He was a founding member and first president of the Richmond Curling Club; President of the Richmond Lions Club and an active participant for many years; and he and Jean were members of the St. Paul’s United Church congregation. Bruce was a tireless volunteer with the church, and organized numerous church suppers at the Richmond Fair. He also had a wonderful voice and enjoyed singing in the church choir.

Bruce loved the outdoors; tending to his large garden, hunting, fishing and spending time at his cottage. But he especially loved these things because they connected him to his family and his friends. Always positive and with a quick wit, Bruce will be truly missed.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring doctors and nurses of the Queensway-Carleton Hospital Emergency and ICU wards. A private memorial service will be held at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.  Those that wish to view the service may do so at https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1618529327110915
