Forse, Arlene Wilma

(nee Burns)

Died peacefully in her sleep on August 12th, 2019 at the age of ninety-two. Arlene was born in Montreal on June 26, 1927 to Mabel Matilda McPhee and Allan Woodrow Burns. She went to college to study as an X-ray technician and given her love of children went on to become the head technician at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.  It was also where she met and fell in love with Dr. Raymond Armour Forse. They wed on March 11, 1950 and had four children, Armour, Margaret, Bertram and Allan. Arlene worked tirelessly as a mother, homemaker, medical office assistant, and X-ray technician in Montreal West, their home and Sutton, their cottage. Following the death of her husband, Arlene retired to Kingston, Ontario where she sang soprano in the First Baptist Church choir. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist, playing throughout her life. She donated considerable time to hospital auxiliaries in both Montreal and Kingston.  She moved to Ottawa after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. Nanny will be loved and remembered by her four children, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. We are extremely grateful for the compassionate care of the staff and nurses at Amica Westboro.  For those wishing a donation in Arlene's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa.  Condolences, tributes and donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
