Allen Desjardins

DESJARDINS, Allen David - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allen Desjardins, beloved father, and successful business owner. Allen passed away on March 19, 2023. Allen was born in Eastview, now Ottawa to his parents Rene and Henriette Desjardins. Married to Paulette in 1961, they had three children, Michael (Denise), Julie (Giorgio), and Lisa. Grandfather to Cameron, Sarena (William), Alex, Adam & Finn. Brother to David, Gayle (David), Marc (Mariane) & Ray (Sheila). Allen started his successful sales career at Pilon Ltee (PAL) in Hull, QC. After he helped develop & grow several successful small retail stores for Pilon’s, he set his focus on obtaining land in Woodlawn. Then in 1988, Woodlawn Building Supplies was open and ready for business, serving Constance Bay, Woodlawn, and the Dunrobin area for 22 years. To all his customers, and friends who passed through the doors of Woodlawn, he became known as “PAL-AL.” Despite his busy schedule, Allen always made time for his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife Paulette, and a loving father to Michael, Julie & Lisa. Allen's passing is a great loss to his family, friends, and the community. His spirit and rigid determination to succeed will be greatly missed. A private service will be held for family in May, followed by an open celebration for friends, and former customers at the Legion in Constance Bay, more details to follow. Rest in peace Dad.
