Sandy passed away peacefully in hospital on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband for 48 years to Cora (Johnson) He will be greatly missed by his son, Shawn and his wife Miki, grandsons Keegan and Kyle, brothers Doug, George (Joe), Eugene (Deedee), and sisters Phyllis(Allison) and Dawn Ann (Jenkins). He is predeceased by his parents, John and Ida Matheson and siblings Richard (Dick), Barbara, Harold and Osborne (Buddy). Survived by many nieces and nephews. Throughout his career with the RCAF, Sandy had tours at various Canadian stations, as well as tours in Cyprus and Korea ending here in Ottawa.  On retirement from the military, he worked several years with the Commissionaires.

In keeping with Sandy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Almonte General Hospital would be appreciated.
