It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Yves Barsalou, on February 22, 2026 at the age of 65 years old, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Yves is now reunited with his late parents, Jean-Marie and Rolande Barsalou (nee Grandmaison).  He leaves behind his sister, Lise, his three children; Marise (Dustin), Patrick (Beatriz) and Lyzanne and his grand­children, Liam and Walter, along with his nieces and nephews and many friends he met along his travels.

Yves was born in Sudbury, Ontario, this is where he spent childhood into early adulthood. He was an experienced traveller, spending time in Taiwan, Turks & Caicos, Dominican Republic, Ottawa and Halifax. He also had dreams to travel to Africa and to visit Panama to spend time with his son and his family.

A memorial service will be held at Saint-Jean-De­Brebeuf church in Sudbury at a later date.
